hadouken

thinking to self, "ok, i will rest my eyes for a bit."
*starts stopwatch...
still thinking, "hmm. how long should i lay here?"
*measures eye tiredness level
again thinking to self, "five minutes will be good."
*rests and reflects
*opens eyes for a bit to see a watch that says, "4:50"
*waits...
*pauses stopwatch at 4:59
*resets stopwatch
*smiles
*repeats

if there is rain

is it not a paradox that you are saved
by grace through faith and not by works
and yet once you are saved, God gives
you a new desire to work for His purpose
out of reverence and love for His kingdom?
God, restore to me that joy to work
night and day for you! i was not made to
be a slave to anything or anyone but You.
i pray that i would be reminded daily
that feeling tired after a long day of
labor is a blessing from You, because in
all things, You are faithful and You will
finish the work that You have started in me.
remind me that i should never complain or
feel entitled to rest- i can get plenty
in heaven. Lord, would you reign in my life.

babies

the innocence of a child is quite refreshing
the cuteness of two is somewhat overwhelming.

calling from home

as the weeks go by and the months begin to blend,
i realize time and time again that time has a trend
to accelerate. just when i think i have the most of all,
i'm reminded this train will eventually hit a wall
and that every moment in which i let my heart wander
is a moment wasted.
--------------------------------------------------------------
while i have become an adult, i must remember
that i am still such a child because maturity
has nothing to do with age. humble me, Lord.
--------------------------------------------------------------
things i have been called to do:
1. trust in God with my all in every situation
and glorify Him.
2. as an older core member, i have to lead others
in core in a Christ-like manner (not that i don't
hopefully already), meaning i must speak up against
any actions or words that do not edify our fellowship.
3. evangelize. and then evangelize some more.
4. strive for unity in the church. hopefully, i am
wrong when i think our fellowship has cliques. but,
it is always there in every generation- the group of
individuals that does not feel welcome, because of the
very thing we who feel at home the most want them to
have. our closeness was not given to us so that we
could exclude others in the church. but rather, i
think God in His genius gave us close friends to keep
us accountable and to make us more holy. that is why
i bought a set of books for their small group.
5. speaking of buying things, i am called to be a
way better steward of my time and money (thanks for
informing me about abebooks, i shall use it wisely!)
6. work on the love life. jk. this one is for you
wayne. and max. and chris. and chris. =3
7. call out falsehood and reveal the truth with
complete sincerity and genuineness.
